'Going Green' is an intercultural blended-learning project and the product of a partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Leuphana University Lüneburg, and LIFE e.V. In a pilot project in 2014, German and U.S. students explored approaches to sustainable development collaboratively through an e-learning platform (Moodle). Starting in September 2015, “Going Green” is now part of a larger teaching platform Teach About US with updated content. Schools throughout the U.S. and Germany will navigate through web 2.0 applications and social media, and exchange their findings. They will publish their local initiatives online and contribute them to concluding regional student conferences on and around Earth Day 2016. Read more on the teachaboutus.org homepage

Students from Frankfurt participate in COP21 youth meeting. One of the most exciting developments in the project so far has come from our participants at Max-Beckmann-Schule in Frankfurt. Teacher Theresa Hartmann and her students of English course 11B were invited to participate in a panel discussion on Youth Engagement on Climate Change, organized by the U.S. Department of State as part of the ‪‎COP21 in Le Bourget, France. Besides being allowed to contribute their own questions to the panel, the students were visited by Consul General Jim Herman, who discussed with them ways to ‪act on climate change. Listen to the whole story in this More987FM.com radio report.
